Specifically, about helping you communicate about yourself on the web. Who are you and what do you want people to know about you and your company at first glance? What about after they have spent some time? My goal is to give you a strong web presence – a place online where your clients, customers and maybe even friends can go to learn about you and what makes you excited.

For me, design is just one of my tools to create that communication. Design serves a purpose – it’s more than just being pretty, but beautiful aesthetics serve an important purpose too! When I first meet with a client, my job is to listen. I strive to really hear each goal and the requirement behind each goal. It is a collaborative process. I enjoy the give and take of ideas and the passion that each person brings to their project.

After we have defined how your site should look and behave, it is time to build it. Each of the development tools that I use, from html and css to php and complex content management systems act as the building blocks that, when combined, comprise your site. I strive to remove the mystery and, in some cases, fear that gets wrapped around websites and technology. You can think of me as a liaison between the tech world and you – bridging the gap to make your experience a positive one.

Recent Web Design Work http://meganlmiller.com/2009/11/recent-web-design-work/ http://meganlmiller.com/2009/11/recent-web-design-work/#comments Tue, 17 Nov 2009 19:18:48 +0000 Megan http://meganlmiller.com/?p=61 Over the past year, I’ve been focusing on eCommerce Web Design – following strict design guidelines that complex eCommerce software dictate.  I’ve been designing for AspDotNetStorefront, AbleCommerce, Volusion, Network Solutions, and others.  Each eCommerce platform has a unique set of requirements and a different level of difficulty to develop specific required features.

Some of my most recent design work is featured in my Web Design Gallery. Take a look at the Gallery.

Flash Work http://meganlmiller.com/2009/11/flash-work/ http://meganlmiller.com/2009/11/flash-work/#comments Tue, 10 Nov 2009 19:32:51 +0000 Megan http://meganlmiller.com/?p=69 One piece of my interactive flash work.  Just a simple user-controlled image for a Hyundai dealership that changes the image when the thumbnail is clicked.  This is a smaller version of the original file, so the lines aren’t crisp, but the functionality is there.

Flash is an amazingly powerful tool when used well.  The ‘fancy’ and interactive touches it can add to a site can be well worth the work, though with new AJAX and javascript possibilities emerging, using flash only for appropriate functionality is becoming easier and easier!

Photography on Canvas http://meganlmiller.com/2009/09/photography-on-canvas/ http://meganlmiller.com/2009/09/photography-on-canvas/#comments Thu, 10 Sep 2009 19:52:13 +0000 Megan http://meganlmiller.com/?p=83 I’ve just started printing my photography on heavy-duty artist canvas and it looks amazing. The canvas adds a beautiful texture under the ink. This looks especially great with some of my macro shots of strongly textured subjects – like the Oriental Poppies.

Stages

These canvas photos also have a “fade resistant” life of up to 80 years! If you are interested in seeing some of my work on canvas, please contact me.
